The Southeast Asian Peninsula (SEAP) Games Federation was formed in June 1959, the founder members being Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam - hence the six interlocked rings which formed the Games logo.
Singapore hosted the VII SEAP Games for the first time with a full turnout of seven countries being held at the new and modern National Stadium on 01-08 September 1973.
